WELCOME TO BG&E

from the past one can infer the future

There is a war being fought right under your nose. While the majority of you humans go about your day in blissful ignorance, thousands of people are dying at the hands of the Noah Clan. Your loved ones could already be dead and you wouldn't even know it until they shed their disguises and tried to kill you.

Don't think they won't do it, either. They are no longer your best friend or lover; they are simply machines programmed for destruction and they are hidden behind the mask of a normal human, perfectly blending in amongst society.

They are everywhere. The woman behind the check-out counter, the young boy sitting on the bus, even a political leader could all secretly be murderous weapons of the Noah.

Scared? You should be. But do not fear for long, for there are people out there with the ability to destroy these monsters. Belonging to an army funded by the Vatican, these gifted humans will purify the Earth of the Noah clan and save humanity... we hope.

Name: Alfonso Rodriguez
Age: 25
DOB: March 13, 2984
Gender: Male
Group: Exorcist
Nationality: Spanish
Innocence: Equipment-type; Segador Sagrado (in progress)
Height and Weight: 6’0ft ;; 148 lbs

Description:

More or less a living representation of the tragic hero Oedipus, Alfonso is often – if not always – seen with a melancholic glaze in his remote, powder blue eyes, which holds a pensive expression as they reflect on the events of his ill-remembered past. His ghastly pallid skin doesn’t provide much of a cheerful variance either, and so did that brooding thin line, which represented his pale and barely colored lips. He partook well in his Spanish heritage, bearing the characteristically straight nose with an unnoticeable crook by the bridge, accompanied by a rhombus head with a faintly squared jaw. Crimped, shoulder-length hair fell from his head in smooth, bistre hues, whereas the sun-damaged areas took in a mild taupe shade, making it faintly lighter than the rest. His brown locks, albeit beautiful in its sophisticated blend, lacked the vigor to uplift the default mournful expression on Alfonso’s face, thus arranging themselves into a pretty pathetic array on his head.

This Spanish man prefers seafood to pork and beef, and would often be seen wandering into Japanese restaurants or other eateries that provide menus, which would satisfy Alfonso’s taste. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t mind eating pork or beef every now and then, just to create a balance of nutrients within his body. Because of this, Alfonso adapted a tall and lean stature, complete with the pleasant muscular touches in various areas of his body.

Three years before his admission to the Order, Alfonso was involved in a fire that permanently burned and scarred his right hand. He keeps it heavily bandaged in a mitten’s form in order to conceal its grotesque appearance from the public. This, however, does not impede him from playing the cello in an extremely proficient manner.

Perchance it was just due to his rather dismal nature, but Alfonso “delights” in wearing dark clothes, usually ones that are similar to the old English man’s attire in the late 19th century. Long-sleeved dark coats, blazers, or jackets over immaculate white button-up polo shirts, with a thin, dark blue ribbon sometimes acting as a necktie were his most frequent choice of clothes. He always brings around a big, black, hexagonal cello case, carrying with the practical ease of a child carrying his backpack, a feat that others find extraordinary.

Personality:

Alfonso has quite the ominous persona, always walking around with a forlorn expression on his face, well expressed by those reflective blue eyes of his, which always seemed to reflect sad things from the past. Every now and then he throws in an impassive expression, as if to provide some sarcastic variety on his person, but still he fails to hide that overall melancholy, which is clearly visible in his wistful eyes. He may smile, but it would be distant and far from sincere. Other reactions might flicker on his face every now and then, but his default expression would always be a miserable one.

He rarely talks; in fact he won’t talk at all if he could help it. Alfonso is more comfortable speaking through his actions rather than his words, and would often carry around a pen and paper, his two representatives who would be speaking in behalf of him. This is also due to the fact that he is more eloquent in written English, compared to verbal English wherein he is still having a hard time. If ever he would speak up, he would sometimes slip back into his native language and cause confusion. Alfonso is also silent and anti-social, but it was not that he meant it to be; he just couldn’t bring himself to properly mingle with people when sad thoughts were always ravaging his mind. His rate of friend making would probably equal to 1 friend: 3 years.

He’s a good and honest-to-God person, and would never lie unless the circumstances called for it. Polite, well mannered, and composedly graceful in his actions, Alfonso possessed the true virtues of a real gentleman. He is also very helpful, and would involve himself in community work, as long as it doesn’t require him to speak. If ever he would be invited to social gatherings or parties, he’d try to attend, more out of courtesy than actually wanting to be involved with people. He also very rarely gets angry; he’s far too depressed to be bothered by anything else.

Background:

Twenty-five years ago, when Alfonso was only a few months old, he was considered as the luckiest man on earth.

Being born of a very successful and extravagantly rich couple in Madrid, Spain, Alfonso grew up in a huge mansion outside the city and was raised by the best teachers, served by the best servants, and exposed only to the best aspects of society. He was blessed with good looks and riches, as well as the refined manner akin to that of a prince. Money and power were both within his reach, yet, despite all this, Alfonso did not turn out to be a stereotypical snob that most rich children came to be. No, Alfonso was different. At a young age, he was aware of the realities of the world, and was not blinded by the glorious luster of diamonds, gold, and upper class life. He knew about the sufferings of the poor, about the devastating lives of the less fortunate, and about the shattered dreams of the penniless. And with this knowledge came forth his conviction to dedicate his life to serving his countrymen.

Eight years ago, when Alfonso was seventeen years old, he considered himself as the happiest man on earth.

Right after his seventeenth birthday, Alfonso met the queen of this life, in the form of an outstanding girl named Josefina Mercado y Castro. She was a social activist in Spain at that time, and though she was only part of the middle class, she didn’t let her lack of funds deter her determination to uplift the lives of the less fortunate. She and Alfonso met when he was scouting for participants in one of his charity drives, and from there on they began to get to know each other, and inevitably fell deeply in love with one another. Only five months after they had first met, Alfonso finally proposed, and of course, Josefina accepted, making them both engaged at the young age of seventeen. It was a good thing that Alfonso’s parents didn’t have any qualms against their engagement, and they even provided the two with their blessings, deciding to pay for their wedding expenses in spite of Alfonso’s and Josefina’s protests.

All in all, Alfonso’s life seemed to be blessed with a happily ever after.

But alas, fate had other plans.

Three years later and five years ago, when Alfonso was twenty years old, he considered himself to be the unluckiest man in the world.

The heavens, perchance, though that it would be hilarious to use Alfonso’s life as a living example that there are no happy endings, and so, in a span of a few month, his whole beautiful life came spiraling down from the top of the social pyramid, and crashed into crudely shattered pieces at the bottom. It all began with a careless mistake made by Alfonso’s father, wherein he signed the wrong sheet of paper, thus resulting to him inadvertently transferring all his shares to his rival company, which then stripped him off of all his money and power. The shock of losing all their riches was too much for Alfonso’s parents to take, and so, at the eve of All Hallow’s Eve, the two of them committed suicide together, abandoning their son in the midst of all the misery they left behind.

In order to pay for the debts his parents left behind, Alfonso’ had to give up all his money and savings, which then left him deeply buried in the mud of poverty. His wife, Josefina, was the only person holding him away from insanity and depression, and with her, he tried to rebuild his life from scratch. He took a job as a clerk in a drugstore, and for a while he and Josefina managed to live a contented life on their measly salaries. It was then that Alfonso started to wish for a happily ever after once more.

Unfortunately for him, life wasn’t keen on granting wishes.

Only two months after his parents’ death, and about a month before his birthday, Alfonso was faced with another striking dilemma in his life. The police discovered that the drugstore he worked in was selling illegal drugs for the country’s most notorious drug lords, and Alfonso was suspected as the mastermind. And when he thought that things couldn’t get any worse, Alfonso’s boss, the drugstore’s manager, was found dead in an abandoned alley. All the planted evidence pointed at him, and although he swore that he had nothing to do with it, nobody believed a word that he said. Soon enough, he was convicted of murder and drug trafficking, sentenced to stay in jail for life.

Two years later and three years ago, when Alfonso was twenty-two years old, he discovered the Innocence.

It first came in the appearance of a small marionette doll which one of his cellmates received as a gift from his daughter. The man was one of Alfonso’s few friends in jail, and he gave Alfonso the doll in order to “cheer” him up a bit, since he always looked so down. Alfonso took the doll gratefully, but only a day after he received it, the doll began to act in a strange manner.

It began to move, as if it was alive.

At first, Alfonso freaked out, but when he told his friend about it, he received ridiculing laughs in return and a few suggestions on visiting the prison shrimp. Discouraged, Alfonso decided to keep it all a secret. For a while he locked the doll in a box, afraid that it might do something weird or evil if it was let out. But soon enough, he felt pity for it and finally took it out. The doll couldn’t speak, but it’s marble eyes blinked and followed his movements. It could not move with Alfonso manipulating it using the strings, but when it moved, it moved with the finesse of a real human being.

One and a half years later, and one and a half a years ago, Alfonso killed his first akuma.

It all happened when his friend – the one who gave him the doll – heard the news that his daughter was killed in a traffic accident, and a few days later started to act in a really peculiar manner. This worried Alfonso, and he decided to confront his friend about it and ask what was wrong. When they met up, however, his friend suddenly turned into a huge, grotesque monster with cannon-like barrels protruding out of its sickly gray skin. Alfonso didn’t know what to do; he knew he could do nothing against a horrible creature like this. But as the barrel’s focused on him, Alfonso felt something tug at his fingers. It was then that he remembered that he was carrying the doll with him, but before he could dwell on the significance of such a realization, something, instinct perhaps, told him to move his fingers.

And he did.

Without really knowing what he was doing, he saw the doll shoot out of his pocket and move directly towards the monster, like a wild, wooden bullet. The doll pierced through the monsters skin, and for a dreadful moment nothing happened.

And then there was a huge explosion.

The explosion drew in a high level of alarm within the prison barracks, and the jail guards all rushed in, as well as an exorcist – who happened to be nearby – that recognized that unmistakable type of explosion. The explosion had been close and strong enough to knock Alfonso unconscious, but the few things he remembered before falling into darkness was the sight of a glowing, crystal-like object lying on the floor beside him, and the glimpse of a black and silver coat that stood out among the beige garments of the jail guards.

Half a year later, and a year ago, Alfonso became a free man and an exorcist of the Black Order.

However, if you would think that this would be the happy turning point of his life, you would find yourself severely mistaken.

Just a few weeks after he was admitted to the Order, Alfonso found out that Josefina was dead.

Apparently, she could not believe that Alfonso was guilty of any of the crimes imposed on him, and so she decided have an investigation of her own. This investigation led her too deeply into the country’s most feared mafia groups, and thus led to her assassination. Her naked, lifeless body was found in a ditch beside a small chapel in a secluded part of the Madrid. It was obvious that she was raped first before she was killed, and with the numerous stab wounds and deep cuts she had, it was apparent that she did not die a quick and painless death.

It was then that Alfonso considered himself to be the most miserable person on earth.

He couldn’t allow himself to ask help from the Earl, afraid that it would curse the soul of his beloved forever. But before he could follow the footsteps of his parents and commit suicide the same way they did, Alfonso found himself face to face with the furious face of an angel, the same angel who found him in prison, who had clad in the same black and silver coat that she wore with pride.

“Stop being so pathetic,” he remembered her say, in an angry, hissing voice. “I didn’t bring you here to become the humiliation of us exorcist. If you really want reason to live on, I’ll give you a reason to live on.”

The following words were the words that he would never forget till the end of his life, for they were the words that stood as the pillars, which now supported his present life, and kept him from falling into complete oblivion.

“Revenge. Become stronger, so strong that no one can stand in your way again. And when you’ve become strong, hunt down those who ruined your life and kill them.”

Those bright cerulean eyes looked at him with a hard glare, bearing the expression of a person whose heart was entrapped in ice, and that voice, that voice that held not even the barest hint of hesitation or uncertainty. Both of them clashed with her long, corn silk blonde hair, which flowed down her head like a gentle veil of cream-colored silk.

Alfonso would never forget her name. The name of the angel which had supported him with her chilling words.

Cerys Trystine.

Weapon Name: Segador Sagrado (Sacred Reaper)

Type: Equipment-type; Doll-type; Puppet/Marionette-type; Scythe-type. Offensive-type

The Doll
The Scythe
The Doll and The Scythe

Description:
INACTIVATED
The Case
Length: 5 ft.
Width: 1’6 ft.
Height: 11 inches
Weight: Case and cello alone = 25 lbs. ; Case and cello with doll and scythe = 77 lbs.
When inactivated, the Doll is stored inside a black, coffin-shaped cello-case, simply decorated by silver embellishments and ornate carvings. This case has three sub-cases; the first one is a hidden compartment built within the cello case’s cover. By pressing the golden, screw-like button near the hinges, one can open the compartment and take out whatever it was that’s inside. In Alfonso’s case, this is where he stores his Doll’s main weapon; the Scythe.

A real cello is also inside the case, placed in its appointed, velvet-cushioned space. Underneath it is another secret compartment, this time bearing the small body of his puppet, the Doll. This is compartment is different from the rest, because it can be opened from the outside. The bottom of the cello case hides a latch that would open it and release the Doll without much hassle.

The Rings

These silver rings are Alfonso’s “control buttons,” mainly because this is how he manipulates the actions and attacks of his Doll. These rings are sensitive to every twitch and movement his fingers make, and by creating a variety of combinations, Alfonso can create a variety of attacks. These rings may also be called the Doll’s nervous system, because without them, the Doll would not be able to move or react to any stimuli. In these rings, devices were implanted in order to send signals to the Innocence, which is inside the Doll’s body. Unlike the conventional marionette, wherein strings are required, Alfonso can control his Doll’s body wirelessly. These rings are also reinforced with titanium alloys, making it almost unbreakable.

All his fingers in both hands have these rings, but Alfonso only uses his normal hand whenever he’s fighting. However, once he decides to use his other hand too, the speed and power of his Doll would drastically increase.

ACTIVATED
the Doll
Height: 3 ft.
Weight: 35 lbs.
Eye color: Pitch black
Hair color and description: Her hair is a deep black color, so deep that it appears to be dark, dark blue under efficient lighting. It’s straight and three feet long, while a semi-straight cut fringe lies over her forehead.
Appearance: Her skin color is ashen white, without a single hint of scarlet any where on her cheeks. She has a completely artificial appearance, which is already expected of a doll made out of malleable glass and steel-enforced plastic. Her bones are made of stainless steel, reinforced once again with titanium alloys. The attire she wears all the time is a black, Chinese-like dress, which ended five inches from her knees, complete with a long, revealing slits at both sides. Her legs are clothed with midnight blue, lace stockings, while high-heeled black leather boots shelters her feet. Mechanical steel wings are also attached to her back, giving her the ability of flight.

the Scythe
Length: Blade length = 4’10 ft. ; Handle length = 5’3 ft.
Width: Unspecified.
Weight: 17 lbs.
Appearance:: By emphasis on its name, the Scythe’s heel takes the form of a sophisticated cross, specially molded out of black marble and metal. Its beard connects to the chine, which, as a whole, is made of thick, tinted black glass. Outlining the chine is the steel blade reinforced with titanium alloys that made it more durable. The toe of the Scythe is made of pure steel and titanium now, and curves up into a rather sinister arc.

Special Attacks and Abilities:

Salida del Sol (Sunrise)
LEVEL ONE
Theme: Explosive projectiles
In Salida del Sol, Alfonso is able to release abrupt blasts of explosive energy whenever his Doll swings the Scythe in a slashing manner. These energy blasts, by default, equal the destructive power of an exploding grenade, although Alfonso can adjust the power of the blasts depending on how he uses his fingers. With only one hand, the maximum power would be in par with three grenades simultaneously exploding. With two hands, it would rise up to the destructive power of six grenades concentrated in one area. Using this attack can be quite tiresome, and overuse can create complications involving the Doll’s body (ex. her hand might fall off, her wings would stop working etc.).

Puesta del Sol (Sunset)
LEVEL TWO
Theme: Stealth and invisibility
In Puesta del Sol, Alfonso is now capable of utilizing his weapon’s deceptive abilities. By rotating the Scythe in a hypnotic, counter clockwise manner, Alfonso can permanently blind all Level One akuma and momentarily confuse all Level Two akuma, making them turn against one another. Unfortunately, this would only cause a slight sense of disorientation for Level Three akuma, and absolutely no effect for Level Four akuma. And it was a waste of energy to try this on the Noah.

Medianoche (Midnight)
LEVEL THREE POINT FIVE
Theme: Infection
This is Alfonso’s strongest and most dangerous attack. Whenever the Medianoche state is activated (this is characterized by the ominous red glow of the blade) every single wound, no matter how small, even if it was a mere prick, would be deadly. Why? Because every wound that was inflicted would grow in both size and depth, thus marking the inevitable death of the target. For Level Ones it would mean instant death, because the rate of growth for their wounds is faster compared to the higher levels. Level Twos can last up to five-ten minutes before being annihilated, while Level Threes can last up to twenty-thirty minutes. It would take about an hour to defeat a Level Four using this technique, and about a day for it to severely wound (and NOT kill) a Noah. Removing the part of the body where the infection originated can stop the spread of this “infection”. Aside from that, there is no other way to stop it.
